California skateboarder, 66, extends her record as oldest female competitor

Judi Oyama has added another year to her record as the world’s oldest female competitive skateboarder, competing at age 66 in an international championship in Brazil. Oyama was 66 years and 25 days old when she took part in the 2025 International Slalom Skateboarding World Championships in November, according to UPI Odd News. Guinness World Records confirmed that the appearance surpassed her previous record. The California skateboarder first claimed the title in 2024, when she competed at age 64. She began skateboarding at 13 and started competing professionally in 1975. Oyama’s accomplishments also include recognition from the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2018. She is planning another attempt to extend the record in October at the World Skate Games. Although she continues to compete, Oyama told Guinness World Records that she feels she has raced to her best each year and no longer needs to prove anything as she gets older.
