Kitten Survives Nearly 80-Mile Ride Inside a Car’s Engine Compartment

A newborn kitten made an unexpected journey through Texas after apparently hiding inside a vehicle’s engine compartment for a roughly 76-mile drive. According to the City of Kerrville, an employee arrived at Peterson Health and discovered the kitten inside the vehicle’s engine bay. The car had reportedly traveled from Rocksprings to Kerrville before the animal was found. A Kerrville animal control officer responded with personnel from Kerrville Pets Alive. Hospital workers removed the vehicle’s front grille to allow rescuers to reach and extract the kitten. Kerrville Pets Alive said the kitten was then safe, warm, fed and in the group’s care. The organization also said the animal was taken for assessment after the unusual road trip.
