Escaped Bison Found Roaming Gravel Roads in Virginia

A bison took an unexpected tour of a Virginia neighborhood before authorities guided it away from the road, according to Loudoun County Animal Services. The county’s Humane Law Enforcement team was dispatched Monday after receiving a report that the animal was loose and wandering along gravel roads. Officials described the bison as creating “his own version of a farm tour.” Deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office worked with animal services personnel to escort the bison to a nearby field. The animal services team then used its Operation: Protect Livestock database to identify and contact the bison’s owner.
